The Story of Grace began in August 1983, when twelve people met in the Clear Lake Intermediate School auditorium with a vision and passion for winning our city for Christ. Founding Pastor Steve Riggle jokes that everyone there that day had a job in the church, including the children. Four weeks after that first Sunday, God miraculously provided Grace’s first facility.
The small, but dedicated congregation cleaned up the building and held services with great faith that God was going to do something important in and through them. In a matter of months, Grace grew from that original twelve people to several hundred.
In 1984, as the Grace family grew out of their home, God once again provided what was needed; a larger facility located in the heart of League City. God continued to grow this body of believers called Grace and after just four years in League City, Grace was holding three services to accommodate people who wanted to encounter God in a fresh way. Again, a new home was needed. Grace purchased property and built a landmark building at the entrance to Clear Lake City in 1990. Soon even this new home would be too small to hold what God was doing.
Grace Houston - With a clear call from God to lift our eyes and see the City of Houston, Pastor Steve and the leadership team made a bold move in purchasing 86 acres on the current site at the Gulf Freeway and Dixie Farm Road and relocating us to our current home in 2004. The facility features a worship center that accommodates 10,000 people, multiple classrooms and auditoriums, a gymnasium and a huge Playscape. Today, Grace has grown to 12 weekend services and 6 midweek services on 4 campuses.
Grace Woodlands moved into its new 85 acre North Campus August 5, 2007. It is located at the southern edge of The Woodlands (I-45 and Spring Crossing Exit). The first phase of development includes a 750 seat worship center with children¹s auditorium, nurseries, meeting rooms, and a coffee bar and café overlooking a lake and plaza. Included in this phase has been extensive preparation of the site for future expansion. All of the buildings on this campus will center around a large lake with fountains, bounded by a wide plaza system with tropical landscaping and a central park. Pastor Steve and Becky Riggle have assumed primary leadership over this campus.
